Visit Garris Chapel

We invite you to join
us for worship.

When you visit Garris Chapel once, you are no longer a visitor. You are part of the GC family! We invite you to join us in joyful worship and celebration on Sunday mornings and connect with us throughout the week.

What to expect

What can you expect when you join us on a Sunday morning? Here are a few questions that most visitors have about our church. You can also ask any of our Ushers or members for more information once you arrive. You’ll find a friendly group of people eager to answer questions and point you in the right direction.

What time do worship services start and how long do they last?

Worship service takes place weekly on Sunday mornings beginning at 10am. Our service typically lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

What should I wear?

There’s no formal dress code at Garris Chapel, and the attire on Sunday morning is just as varied as our worship style. You will see a bit of everything; people in their “Sunday best,” folks in “business casual” and those in jeans and t-shirts. You’ll even find during the the warmer months, people wearing shorts and flip-flops! It’s completely up to you to dress to your level of comfort. Most importantly, we look forward to seeing you, not what you’re wearing.

Where should I park?

We have accessible paved parking areas that surround our Sanctuary and Family Life Center. If upon arrival you find that those areas are full, there is additional parking across the street from the Sanctuary. Cross the small wooden bridge after you cross the street and one of Ushers will be waiting to greet you.

Is childcare available?

Yes, we have childcare available for newborns to 2 years of age in Nursery 1, and Nursery 2 for preschool age children. We also have a designated time of each service we call “Time With the Children.” During this time, children of all ages can gather around the altar with Pastor Adam as he shares a word from the Lord in a way that all children can understand. After “Time With the Children,” the youngsters who are beyond nursery age are dismissed to “Wee Worship” for what is always a fun and exciting time of learning and growing as the children of God!

What are your worship services like?

The experience of worship at Garris Chapel is as diverse as the community that worships in our sanctuary. With the rich Wesleyan heritage as a foundation, Garris Chapel is alive in worship and in witness, bringing voice to the inclusive love of God with varied musical styles and diverse liturgical and seasonal experiences. Although most people would call our worship style “contemporary,” you will find that we worship and celebrate Jesus in many forms. For example, most of our services feature gospel, old-time southern gospel, and modern contemporary Christian praise and worship.

What type of people worship at Garris Chapel?

You will see all of God’s human creation on Sunday morning, including young and old, men and women, singles and families. All people are welcome to worship and experience the love of God at Garris Chapel Church.

Do you offer Sunday School for children and adults?

Yes. At Garris Chapel, we encourage our members and visitors to become involved in study, growth, and the support that comes from small group fellowship. While classes may differ in their make-up, style, and central focus, all are designed to enrich the lives of their participants by providing an inviting environment in which to explore questions of faith and life.
