Garris Chapel United Methodist Church
Outreach & Missions

The outreach ministry is dedicated to reaching outside our immediate church family to reveal the love of God to our community. Throughout the year, we are actively involved in many ministries that are always looking for additional ways to share and show God’s love to those around us. These are some of the ongoing outreach projects. If you’d like to get involved please contact one of the coordinators, Terry or Angela Johnson about participating in this exciting area of outreach ministry at Garris Chapel.  garrischapeloffice@suddenlinkmail.com

Heart and Soul Ministries, Inc.
You can help make a difference by supporting the “Praying for You” card project. Heart and Soul Ministries provides the “Praying for You” card and you provide a $5 McDonald’s gift card to place in the card with a message of encouragement. This project is a huge blessing as Heart and Soul Ministries works to make a difference with runaways. You may not be able to “GO” and personally minister to those lost but you can help us as we “GO”.

Operation Christmas Child
Each year, we provide empty shoe boxes for the congregation to fill with Christmas goodies for needy children. In addition to the shoe boxes, the church covers the cost of the shipment. Shoe boxes will usually be available during the month of October since the shipment is due the week before Thanksgiving. We have traditionally sent about 100 boxes.
